Youth Chinese Language Program

The ACES Youth Chinese Language Program for students ages 5–13, grades K–5, was first developed in 2004 when ACES obtained its first permanent location. The educational purpose of the Youth Chinese and Weekend Chinese Language programs is to help students learn the Chinese language, understand Chinese culture and tradition, and lay a solid foundation of Chinese for students’ future academic and career needs. With the combination of painstaking research and accumulated experience, we have developed a complete Chinese language curriculum — listening, speaking, reading and writing — to create a unique, comprehensive, and engaging system with gratifying results. The Youth Chinese Language Program is a single-skill Mandarin language and literacy instructional program: students receive direct instruction in one skill — the Chinese language — from 3:40 to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with arrival 3:20–3:40 p.m. and pickup 5:30–5:50 p.m.,. Effective September 21, 2026, the program does not include transportation, homework tutoring, instruction in other academic subjects, talent or activity classes, or camps. ACES is not licensed by the State of Texas and is not a licensed child-care facility, day-care center, or licensed before- or after-school program. The semester ends with our exciting annual show and our poetry recitation contest. Chinese courses focus on Mandarin, Simplified Chinese and Pin-Yin, and use the Ma Liping textbook. Chinese courses include daily readings, where students read aloud classical Chinese stories. ACES admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin. We strive to encourage students to cherish Chinese culture and heritage, foster and enhance friendship among the Chinese-American community, and contribute to the mutual understanding and appreciation of Chinese and other cultures. The ACES Youth Chinese Language Program is a single-skill Mandarin language and literacy instructional program for students ages 5–13, grades K–5. It provides direct instruction in one skill — the Chinese language. No other subject is taught and no other service is provided.

Hours. Arrival and sign-in 3:20 – 3:40 p.m.; instruction 3:40 – 5:30 p.m.; pickup 5:30 – 5:50 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Transportation. ACES does not provide transportation. Any transportation arrangements and payments are handled directly between parents and independent providers.

Regulatory status. The program is not licensed or regulated by Texas HHSC Child Care Regulation. HHSC independently determines exemption status.

Accreditation. ACES holds institutional educational accreditation from the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA). This is institutional educational accreditation only and does not constitute or confer a Texas child-care licensing exemption.

Physical risks. Instruction takes place in a classroom. As in any group setting, students may face ordinary physical risks, including slips, trips and falls; minor injuries when entering or leaving the building at arrival and pickup; and exposure to communicable illness. Please inform the office of any medical condition or allergy before enrolling.

ACES 少儿中文课程是一项单一技能的普通话语言与读写教学课程，招收 5–13 岁、K 至 5 年级的学生，只教授一项技能 —— 中文。本课程不教授其他学科，也不提供其他任何服务。

时间。到校签到 下午 3:20 – 3:40；教学 下午 3:40 – 5:30；接学生 下午 5:30 – 5:50，周一至周五。

交通。ACES 不提供接送服务。任何接送安排与相关费用，均由家长与独立的服务提供者直接商定并支付。

监管状态。本课程未获得德州 HHSC 儿童看护监管部门的执照，也不受其监管。豁免资格由 HHSC 独立认定。

学校认证。ACES 持有 CEA 颁发的机构教育认证。该认证仅为机构教育认证，并不构成或授予德州儿童看护执照豁免。
